RETINA 

LASER is treatment modality using radiations of certain molecules after they have amplified by light. It a treatment use to strengthen the retina, close retinal tears, and reduce the growth of abnormal retinal vessels in different eye conditions. When indicated your doctor will discuss the reason and the expected beneficial effect the treatment. LASER treatment can last between 15 minutes to 1 hour, and the patient can go home after treatment on a topical analgesic. Retinal LASER is safe in all age-groups from the new-born to the elderly patient. 

 

PAEDIATRIC  

We offer laser services for the following paediatric conditions;  

  • Posterior capsular Opacity for Children 7-18 years old 
  • Congenital/ acquired nasolacrimal duct obstruction-Laser Dacryocystorhinostomy 

 

GLAUCOMA 

Laser may be adopted as primary therapy or as an adjunctive treatment in the management of glaucoma. 

 

In management of open angle glaucoma, options include 

  • Selective laser trabeculoplasty 
  • Argon laser trabeculoplasty 

 

In management of angle closure glaucoma, options include 

  • Laser Iridotomy 

 

In management of plateau iris configuration 

  • Laser Iridoplasty 

 

In management of poorly controlled intraocular pressure, neovascular glaucoma 

  • Diode trans scleral cyclophotocoagulation 
  • Micropulse trans scleral cyclophotocoagulation.
