Doctor Olufemi Oderinlo

Dr Olufemi Oderinlo is a foremost Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon. He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile- Ife with a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree in 1993 and completed his residency training in 2002 as one of the pioneer Eye Foundation Hospital residents. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmology, UK and Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS). He was trained at the prestigious Tennents Institute of Ophthalmology, Western Infirmary-Glasgow, Scotland, under Professor C M Kirkness and has attended several international training courses across Europe, United States of America and Asia.

He has over 75 publications, academic seminars and scientific papers as well as research work to his credit. As a clinical researcher, his area of interest includes ocular neovascular diseases as well as management and outcomes of retinal detachments. He is a resource person for a number post-graduate ophthalmology faculties including the National Postgraduate College of Ophthalmology. He has performed over 11,000 ophthalmic surgeries and laser procedures and has attained high proficiency in Vitreoretinal Surgeries and Lasers as well as suture-less Phacoemulsification.

He is the immediate past chairman of the Vitreo Retina Society of Nigeria and a reputable member of many professional societies some of which include: American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Royal College of Ophthalmology of London, European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA), African Ophthalmology Forum (AOF) and Ophthalmology Society of Nigeria
