During Surgery


  • In theatre patient will be assisted to lie on his or her back
  • The affected eye is sterilly cleaned before commencement of surgery
  • Local anaesthesia is instilled in the eye topically to reduce pains
  • The affected eye is covered with a sterile eye drape with eye drain bag. The eye drain bag collects the fluid during surgery
  • The affected eye is anaesthesised locally in a sterile condition (subtenon) before surgery is commenced.
  • Vital signs monitored during surgery.
